The Psychoanalyst’s Workshop, by Maria José Martins de Azevedo, show us how the link of a new interpersonal relationship mode – the new relationship – determines the resumption of the suspended development and in its course the relational change and identity, resulting in an immanent cure. […] Grow again, grow as new, grow as novelty – innovated; and not, renewed; much less, repeated or in continuity. […] ” . In this book, the author addresses the analyst’s internal setting, his Workshop, from which his subjectivity in relation to that of the patient is born. Analyzes the supervisee experience and its transformation into a supervisor experience; presents four cases of analytic treatment: of an adolescent and his respective transformation, of a child with autism, of a woman with psychosomatic problems and of a man with narcissistic problems. An imaginary interview, a tribute to Donald Winnicott, appears at the end. The work ends with a statement about the author’s clinical practice.

Memory and anilytical writing

In this book, in which seven clinical vignettes are presented, the author reflects on the links between clinical experience and the practice of analytical writing, “[…] following in the footsteps of other psychoanalysts – particularly Freud, who gifted us with brilliant works – uses writing to represent and explore the analytical space, where a diversity of psychic experiences illustrative of the dynamics of the analytical field take place. […]” . Proposes the concept of analytical capacity, reflects on the importance of memory in the reconstruction of the subject, conceptualizes three conceptions of memory, as well as its relations with subjectivity and addresses memory disorders in childhood and adolescence, and their sequelae in adult life. In this work he analyzes the relationship between psychoanalysis and literature, as well as Freud’s inspiring relationship with writers, illustrating with a biographical-poetic-psychoanalytic study on the poet António Vera. The multiple identities, which emerged in the context of globalization, are reflected in a final essay on narcissism and otherness.

The author of this book has demonstrated, through the publication of various scientific works, the creative quality of her thinking in the field of psychoanalysis and analytic psychotherapy. Maria José Martins de Azevedo presents us with yet another original essay that surprises us, because, in truth, there are few works published on this subject in the field of psychoanalysis. […] She presents her understanding and contribution to the construction of a “new” relationship that emerged in the situations of virtual psychoanalysis. She describes how, under these circumstances, hope in a new transformative object emerges in the relationship within the analytic space, bringing with it creative expectations for the future and allowing for the mourning of a space that had been felt as disturbing. It starts on clinical research in a virtual context, to present nine vignettes of babies, children, adolescents and adults, and innovative concepts, based on the transference-countertransference dynamic: the analytic being and his timeless existence, the analytic baby, immaturity in the virtual meeting, pandemic psychopathology and parenting in the pandemic context.

BAC 86

On s’est pris une église en 2CV. Ça c’est fait. Sûr qu’elle n’a pas bougé, l’église. C’est fou comme la bagnole est totalement écrasée. J’étais le passager à l’avant, donc je l’ai échappé belle. Là, je viens de me faire recoudre la joue droite et quelques coupures juste au-dessus de la lèvre supérieure. Aux urgences, les infirmières n’ont pas calculé que je suis encore mineur. Elles ont juste vu « né en 68 » sur ma carte d’identité, et comme on est le 7 février 86, elles sont parties du principe que j’ai 18 ans. Or je suis né en octobre. Bon, tant mieux si ça s’est passé comme ça, sinon il aurait fallu appeler mes parents.

Une fêlure

Ana observe le monde qui l’entoure sur la pointe des pieds et se pose beaucoup de questions. Mais on ne parle pas « aux petits » dans cette famille française provinciale et catholique des années 60.

Le vernis de la respectabilité cohabite avec l’incompréhension. Ana peinera sur le chemin escarpé des non-dits, des choses cachées, dans un parcours semé d’embûches, avant de découvrir une vérité surprenante.

C’est l’histoire d’une émancipation.
